Simple Steps that Change Everything
As part of a research project run by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Calgary I developed, taught and refined a course in creativity. The subject was just becoming a focal point of academic inquiry and it was exciting to join the conversation. There were many different sources to consult, but I did not find any one book that would serve to introduce and teach the course so I wrote Creativity: Simple Steps that Change Everything to fill the gap. The book is a survey of the various research available on the topic and worked well with students and with groups off campus who were interested in bringing attention to creativity in their workplaces. This book marked the beginning of my work in this area, which was followed by Critical Condition: Replacing Critical Thinking with Creativity, and now a follow up to that book that should be out within the year.
